There's no shortage of human interaction with a wife and three kids. Between them and visits from my parents and in laws, the house is always busy. For actual socializing I'll meet up with friends when I've got the time and energy for it, but those days are few and far between right now.
Judging from the reactions to this comment, there are so many of us. I also have 3 kids, wife, and little time for any social pursuits aside from Golf. But I don’t feel like I’m missing out, just choosing a different lifestyle at this time and prioritizing my Dad/Husband self.
I’m an introvert. Work in office drains me. WFH is my happy place. I am a party of one and just fine with that.

You mean like friends and family ?
Living Room - My dogs are always ready for a chat 😂
Yep! I actually have two little feline jr. developers on my team!
I live alone so it's easy to feel lonely. I have a gym in my building, so I get to socialize with others from my building when I am working out. I live in a city which has a number of places that I am within walking distance from. I usually take a break during the day and walk to the local coffee shop. It's a bunch of regulars there, so I can chat with a few people from my neighborhood. There are a few good entertainment spots around too and I usually meet with friends over the weekend.
Ummm… my kids play travel baseball and softball… when I am done with the weekend, I am ready to not speak to other humans for a week.
I joined an improv class. Meetup is your friend. Especially if you in a cool city.
At home where my family is.
Anywhere but work
Wife. Children. Neighbors. Friends. Church. People that I run into while shopping, going out to eat at restaurants, jogging, going to the park, gym, and so forth. I also talk to co-workers and colleagues on the phone and through video conference.
Buy an Xbox meet people through discord communities 😂
I use teams to connect w/colleagues. If there's an onsite social event, I make the effort to go onsite.
The gym and local conventions, events, and activities. Though I love working from home, genuine human connection outside of technology for me is needed (and that's even as an introvert).
I focus on maintaining and improving my learning mindset, and the worst thing I can do is attempt to do this in my echo chamber without genuine feedback. This is why I make it a point to get out the house when I can, connect and network with like-minded individuals, and keep challenging myself to step out of my comfort zone to up my game.
I think we all really stopped socializing when the political polars violently swung in opposite directions, pulling with it all other ideologies. I haven’t had a real conversation with anyone in a long time. Being in an office will just have me spewing general chit chat in an effort to get through the day without offending anyone.
Chit chat 😩
The Metaverse on my quest 3
Oh look, someone posting from the past!
I live a 5 min walk from my best friend so I see him at least once every other week usually. And my bf lives with me when he’s not on the road for work so that’s about half the year. Otherwise I have about 3-5 other friends I see about once or twice a month. I’ll go into the office maybe once a month or so. I’m also involved with alumni programs for both my undergrad and grad programs. And I have my dog :)
Dates.

Family who live with you and church for me. That’s all I get. After 3+ years wfh I kiss other human interaction to be honest.
