For junior level lateral hiring, what are the criteria/common profiles for those who got into MBB?

I saw from some posts that MBB mainly lateral hire target school alum. Is that generally true? How can I maximize my chances as a non-target who works in an industry-specific MC role at a Tier 3?

Long post alert; I have been interviewing with a b4 for a senior con role since Mar end. Cleared all the rounds including case study and got strong rating as well as good feedback. Fast forward to last week, the talent POC calls me up and informs that she has asked the business if the position is still open, because now they just need the business approval to roll out the offer. I immediately felt demotivated as to ‘why now’ after all rounds have been cleared (continued in the comment below)

Hello Fishes, I have a Job offer from Cisco and Verizon(VDSI).

Cisco CTC - 16.2LPA , Fixed - 15.1LPA - Cisco TAC role.

Verizon data services llc - CTC 18LPA , Fixed - 16.1LPA

YOE - 6.5 Years
CCTC - 7.2 LPA
Tech - Networking and Security

Conflicted between both as I believe Cisco has a better brand value and great company to work for. But the offer from Verizon is competitive.

Is it a good idea to renegotiate with Cisco based on current offer from Verizon. Please share your thoughts.
