For people who’ve been in the industry for a while, what are sentiments for bootcamps like. Feel like I’ve heard some people reco going back to college over a bootcamp, which makes sense since you’d probably learn more in depth but it’s costly. Do companies prefer one or the other or does it come down more to portfolio and resume?

Advice needed!! Have 8+ years of compliance/legal/in house experience (not privacy law except HIPAA). I really want a Privacy Counsel role so I took and passed the CIPP/US and CIPM exams this past year. I’ve been offered an Associate Director job at PwC. Is this a good stepping stone to a Privacy Counsel role? How long should I expect to work at PwC before I could apply to Privacy Counsel roles??

Hello, in my previous organisation I worked in development domain (Oracle IAM Tool and Java)and my post was software Engineer, i joined Wipro as project Engineer in April 2022 and was assigned non technical project as an analyst.

I fought my way hard to get released from the project. However my designation is changed as Analyst. Should I ask for change in designation as I know that analyst is non-technical profile? Would my designation impact my future role as well?

Is it normal for a Product Owner to lay out specs for how a feature should work?

I thought that was my job as the ux designer to figure out the best way to solve a need. But I’m getting handed projects where the PO, and sometimes the senior designer has laid out exactly what should happen (components used, flow, etc) to design a feature. It’s really frustrating because I don’t know if I’m supposed to be speaking up on what I think or just do the UI work I’m asked to.

Anyone work at or know of firms that have data engineering roles? I discovered the world of design services and they seem to do the general type of work that I think is practical and useful. I'm love to find a firm that works with the public sector and social impact organizations, but can't find any that have data-related roles

This is pretty niche, but I have an emergency management background and am interested in transitioning to UX. However, I would love to find a way to combine my experience in disasters with UX research. Does anyone know of any tech companies that have an emergency management focus that would need a researcher for their products?

My product owner doesn’t understand the value of standard practices like information architecture, use personas, and just want to get to wireframes as soon as possible. I joined a project that had already started and the team already settled on creating a user journey map, even though none of them are designers or in ux. I also have no experience in this field as I'm a data engineer. The user journey map was for mapping out the process for tenants finding housing assistance, so not a technical product. Given this new field and type of work, I've been having a really tough time. Anyone mind sharing what helped get you through your first ux project?
