Once your h1b is approved by uscis, the 3-year timer starts right away. And most companies require you to report changes to your status as not doing this could cause tax implications in the future. Make your own decision after all this.
Not legal advise, but your h1b overrides your F1 status. I presume h1b was filed after f1 and any artifacts of f1 including opt become inactive. Question - did you file for change in status or were these two independent applications?
