I wanted my hair down and straight (I have very long hair) but then I got my dress and it has a gorgeous back to it, so I don’t want my hair to hide it! Now I’m in the same predicament you are in. Do you have a dress that your hair will hide? Maybe that could help decide for you…
Hair trial if you can swing it! Typically you can schedule a hair and make up trial with your engagement photos and that'll give you a sense of what you want on the big day.
I would highly recommend a trial run. Most places are more than willing to do this.
Spend a night in your bathroom trying different hair styles on yourself. You can YouTube it and doesn't have to be perfect. Take pics and think about it. I went with an up do and really happy about not worrying about it getting messed up in photos or ppl squishing it when they gave me hugs. Updo stays fresher longer, Hollywood waves don't keep the whole day btw
I totally recommend this. My sister did this before and she figured out what suits her a couple of days before her big day. It might work for you as well.
It all depends on personal preference and your dress. I had mine down but pinned back so I didn’t have to worry about hair being in my face

I had this same thought. I generally prefer my hair down, but I went with a side bun for my wedding and was happy with it.
My stylist added volume to the top and texture. I thought the bun looked more elegant than curls / waves, which matched the style of my dress. Plus, pulling the hair up helped show off my back. For the rehearsal dinner, I had my hair down in waves.
I’d recommend doing a trial with an updo. Down dos are pretty common, so if you hate the trial, it shouldn’t be too risky to switch styles for your wedding.

Not sure what your dress looks like, but consider your hair in the context of what would look good with the shape of the top.
My hair stylist suggested for a strapless gown it’s usually good to do a half updo or fully down because otherwise there’s a lot of skin, if that makes sense.
Always consider your dress. What does it look like? It is a low-cut one?
Anything that would make you feel more beautiful and confident. You can also ask your hair stylist for her opinion. Good luck, OP!
Hmm. I think it really depends on your personal preferences and taste. It also depends on your dress, really.
How about a trial run? Maybe you have some salons near your place.
