6 weeks PTO, plus 2 one week firm closures

I’m out of public now but I get 20 PTO 8 sick days and 2 personals. Sick days never expire and can be carried forward indefinitely and I can carry over 10 PTO days every year to the next. After 10 years of service it gets bumped to 25 PTO days.

6 weeks

I accrue 14.7 hours per month so that’s like 22 days of PTO. We get I believe 3 floating holidays including the firm shutdowns at July 4th and Christmakuh/New Years.

Crowe mentioned sick days. I know many firms that offer unlimited sick days including mine. You just need to feel comfortable selecting it 🤣

I just joined BDO
2.9 weeks accrued PTO
13 days holiday (not including early close 2.5 hrs before each paid holiday)

Hello, hoping for some input on how to time a job change. At a startup - we are doing well now but unless we have complete turnover in management I don’t think we have a bright future post-COVID. I could coast here 1-2 years before having to look. I’ve been here for a little under a year. This is my second in house job after 10 years at the same firm. The market is hot now, probably won’t be in 1-2 years and I am getting interest for good roles. OTOH I don’t want to look like a job hopper.

Are private companies easier to work at than public companies in accounting? We have such an accelerated close deadline at the publicly traded company I’m at now, I really hate the inflexible tight deadlines and analysis seems to drag on forever after that. We also close AP/AR very early in the month yet that doesn’t stop payments/receipts from happening so we’re constantly adjusting our accruals until the end of month. Do private companies start their close after the month actually ends?
