Not good enough for other companies
lol I see you have high aspirations
No longer with Accenture but spent 10 years there. Disagree with SMs sentiment about not being wanted by others. While with Accenture, interviewed several times with high flying companies including several times with Google during their glory days. Stayed there mainly for the broad range of experience and learning. Truly shaped me into a leader and gave me confidence I severely lacked before I joined Accenture. So there you have it.. some Saturday motivation 😉
I’ve had offers for more money at other firms. The truth is that I like Accenture. I’ve worked for other firms and spent the first half of my career in Industry. I can tell you that taken on the whole, Accenture is a great place to work.
This is my second stint. It was a good place to be from. Work is pretty much the same regardless of where you go if you focus on the mission.
It really depends on the culture of the group you are in.
Accenture has allowed me to work on projects and grow in ways I felt would pay dividends in the long-run. On top of that, I am risk averse and had an inkling that the tech firms giving offers w/ 50%+ salary bumps would dry up or result in a lay off once the economy got rockier. I joined consulting with the desire to make MD or get a quality exit offer and not take one just because of money or prestige but for what I really wanted to do. So far every time I am tempted to leave, I have gotten a solid bump in salary or bonus that has kept me at the firm. That is just my experience though.
