Pro-tip; no one is even going to bother to spend more than 10 seconds reading ur resume
won't take anyone seriously who doesn't proofread their resume 🙅♂️
Update: Crushed every round of interviews, and got the offer today.
^wrong
I appreciate both sides of the argument. I'll keep the thread posted
Did he notice the mistake or you
D2 has it right
Your fine, OP. I always skim resumes and look at the fun stuff like school and LinkedIn pics #savage
Everybody makes mistakes OP. You nor anybody in this post is perfect. If someone overlooks all of your great qualities because of that typo then I wouldn't want to work for them. Seriously
Your friend would let HR scuttle you because of a spelling error? Sounds like a terrible manager or a terrible friend.
depressing that so many here are willing to overlook what should be a deal breaker every time. No candidate worth their salt is going to submit a resume with spelling errors.
A typo and "glaring spelling errors" are a bit different. And you'll lose lots of good people if that's your standard. But hey, I don't plan to apply to D anytime soon (and my resume is perfect, damn it!) so you do you.
😢
Assuming a person is incompetent because of One misspelling is extreme. It does not reflect that the person is a chronically bad user of English in any way. As none of us, even you D1 are perfect
So he has a say in who gets selected... am I boned?
I agree. Careless mistake... not much hope, just wanted other perspectives.
Me.
He wants to hire me... I'm a really strong fit... but I think because of the typo, HR will toss it before it can get to him
So... then...?
I appreciate the feedback everyone! Upvotes for you all!
