Friends trying to lure me into buying a 3k honma ladies graphite golf set. Ive played twice, want to pick golf long term but cant yet justify investing much upfront. Is it essential?

Not essential. Recommend buying a beginners set or getting a set of used clubs from somewhere like Callaway pre-owned. You’ll be much better off using some of that money to invest in lessons.

No there’s no need for that. Get decent set of clubs that feel comfortable, lots of good used deals, and just get out and play. I’d also find a coach and get some lessons. Once you’re comfortable and know you’ll stick with it, get fit for a set that matches your swing. A good fitting is a lesson too so anyone who gets paid whether you buy clubs or not is preferable IMO.

Try 2ndswing.com for a set of preowned clubs. I’m currently playing Ping G400s that I got used for $400 + $400 for the matching driver. Finally going to spring for a new set of Pings next season after 5 years of playing and hitting a 10 HCP.

Can we as H1B holders put our real estate investments under and LLC? I have some properties(primary and investment) that I’d like to put under an LLC. Anyone with this experience?

Been posting my more expensive watches here, but what do we think about this? Cannot afford the Double Red Sea Dweller lol, but this does a good job of giving me the feel of it. Robust and Good Movement though !! Thoughts?

Finding it hard to continue as an attorney after 10 years as a very happy litigator doing insurance defense work including trials. Courts have been closed for over a year (I practice in NYC) and it does not look like I’ll ever have the lifestyle I once had and loved, going to court and depositions every day. Billable hours seem impossible without court and life has just gotten so gravely boring. Anyone else feeling lost? I’ve spent the entire last year trying to figure out where to go from here

Considering looking for a new sales management role. I’ve only had “promote from within” sales manager roles where I started as an IC and continue to manage my book while selling. I’d like to make a switch and start in a management only role. Any recommendations on companies? I have 6 years of top producing IC sales experience and a little over 4 years of management experience.

To those in non-MBB: Would you rather have an offer in hand right now for MBB or FAANG pm? Assume it’s a lateral transition.

What kind of consulting do post mba consultants do at EY since Parthenon is blended in now? And what’s a good reason for switching from Deloitte to EY for post mba? TIA

Trying to decide exit plan. 3rd yr doing insurance coverage litigation, but not sure if I can spin that into in house or a solo gig that won’t be too much of a pay cut at some point (sole breadwinner with family here). Any ideas or anecdotes to help inspire the next steps?

Any news on vedder price? I’ve heard they didn’t fire anyone during COVID but have also heard it’s a sweatshop. Any insight to their litigation team would be helpful, thanks!

I'm getting my MBA from the University of Arizona, how prestigious is the AACSB accreditation? And do MBB or Big 4 Consultant firms care about it?

Instapanel is looking for a recent graduate (preferably from a comms, marketing, or humanities program) to join the team as a Market Research Strategist. This is an entry-level role. Msg for details!

Made it through a screening interview for a small, boutique firm. Seemed like a good place to work until they mentioned starting salary would be less than what I’m making. I informed them that their entry salary would be a pay cut for me and that there would need to be negotiation. They invited me to do a formal interview with partners and case. Is there way to bring comp up again before the interview without being annoying? Don’t want to come off as rude, but also don’t want to waste time.

For those who have subpoenaed a witness deposition via zoom, how do you make sure the witness gets the zoom login details and/or make sure the witness is going to show up?

At home, do you have your desk in your bedroom or somewhere else?

Hopefully he'll release his tax returns and healthcare plan at the same time!
