Hello!
I finished my final round(s) for a TAM position at Google (GCP) last week and was told by my recruiter that my feedback was great and that I made a solid impression on the team and am "firmly in the running". I was supposed to hear back this week (according to the recruiter) but he just told me that it's still in the process and that I'll have to wait for another week or so.
Is this common at Google ? I have heard they are notorious for being really slow with their hiring process.

I've had two recruiters put my resume forward for the same job, because one was sketchy. My advice: engage as many as you want, but be crystal clear they are not to put you forward for any job without your express consent.
Do both. I'm not saying all recruiters do this, but some of the recruiters I've dealt with in the past will push you real hard to do interviews to a bunch of jobs, only for them to ghost you if you were unsuccessful (no response to emails or calls and doesn't reach out to tell you the outcome).
So not only you might get ghosted by your recruiter, but also miss out on good opportunities from your other recruiter.
I would recommend going with the better recruiter (I.e. better in terms of ability to get you the role you want) of the two if possible: sometimes if you communicate you are exclusive with them they will work harder for you as you’re less of a flight risk. Also with regards to B&C1, it’s never a good looks to be circulating in the market by multiple recruiters.

Reach out to recruiters in your field that often have roles that you are looking for. A finance manager is a pretty straight down the line type of role, engage with multiple recruiters.
