Yes. In my 20s i had such a huge friends circle because everyone was going out. I wasted it making shallow party relationships with them when later in life those friends turned into prominent directors and CEOs in our industry.
Figure out who you are and try to make high quality relationships all along the way. If someone has a bad experience with you or misbehaves with you don’t react, just professionally ghost or disengage in a classy way. Everyone definitely talks to each other and your industry niche is literally the same 200-300 people in the US or abroad. Don’t poison that well.
I’m at an age in my 30’s where I can’t even be enemies properly with people because the social scene runs super tight. Everyone just feels awkward and you end up talking again. If your enmity is with an extrovert, you’ll just get dropped from the guests lists.
Collect loyal allies and don’t tell your secrets to anyone. Not even close friends. Friends are only quiet as long as they stay your friends. After that your secrets are out socially and professionally.
Wow who burned Pwc1??
I wish I had kept in touch with more people. It’s never too late to go back and rekindle, but I’ve lost the benefit of what they could have taught me along the way. It takes work to maintain relationships especially if you move around a lot. And i do feel it is harder for us introverts.
I also wish I hadn’t been so snotty towards the rich kids (who were definitely snotty towards me :) ).
Get married. Being introverted and single later in your career will leave you with very little support.

Wish I had spoken up and negotiated harder for a better salary.
