Going back to school in the fall and 98% will never return to Accenture. Thinking of burning all my PTO and then riding the bench until the end of it. Thoughts?

Ride the bench til the end and then get paid for your PTO

like

Yeah don't burn that pto. Gotta get paid for it! Now you could strategically sprinkle a few days around on your schedule so that you look unappealing to staff and then take them off your schedule once the week starts and just ride the bench.

like

No.

like

98% never return to consulting*, for that matter

like

PTO is earned... no cap

like

Saddle up and ride it out man.

like

Devious, D2. Impressive. But devious.

like

Cap paid out at Accenture is 240 hours of vacation

like

You sure M1? Thought it was a legal requirement to pay out. The 240 is what Accenture put as the limit you can carry over from year to year.

like

This is precisely what I am doing

like

Once they lay me off for being on the bench I'll get another severance plus I'll apply for unemployment

like

Isn't there a cap on how much PTO you get paid out?

Post MBA goals?

Where ya headed?

Going to design school, not MBA.

Think there's a max of 240 hours they'll pay out but some states have different rules like California. Worth searching the policy site.

That's the carry over max. OP is fine.

CA they have to pay you out for everything

That's exactly what I'm planning to do! Imma try to be on the bench while in school and collect some more paychecks.

Hahahaha wow haven't even thought of this

I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. Does anyone have experience or advice?

Hi fishes,

Got an offer from Amazon for Data Engineer-2

Yoe-2

Base - 20LPA
Bonus - 10LPA (over 2 years)
RSU-137 (over 4 yrs) worth 13.5 LPA,standard Amazon vesting

I moved to my current company just a month back but Amazon process was in progress, so leaving in probation. I don't think they considered TC of my current company (17 LPA from 7.5 LPA) as it's been just a month. Any views regarding the offer and TC offered.

Thanks already!

Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."

Just a reminder that outside our bubble no-one really cares about firm prestige etc.

Thanks 😊
