Anyone have tips for cover letter/resume to stand out?
They are huge on not negotiating salary there based on their blog.
Anyone know the base salary/expected commission? - It requires you to answer on the application. I would be so thrilled to work at the company I just want to put what they start out at.

Say no to your team. Poor planning does not constitute an emergency. Pto is precious, it is part of your income.
Unfortunately, most companies won’t / can’t make exceptions like this
Been in consulting over 12 years and I don’t even know a year I managed to take all my PTO...just how it goes in this business sorry
You should not have laughed MD1. Leaders' poor planning cause this.
OP - just tell the new project that you have PTO planned already. You won’t get it in next year. You may be able to talk to your new project manager if he can give comp off next year if you start the project role as scheduled.
Odds are zero to carry over an additional year. The only way would be for your project team to let you charge PTO while you work this year, and take the days off next year and charge them, and that’s very unlikely to fly with anyone.
I try to take all my PTO but I’ve lost plenty over the years. I have simply adjusted my attitude that 5 weeks of PTO is not much different than unlimited PTO, when you can’t take it all anyway to meet all your metrics and get good scatterplots, form contributions, etc.
Pwc1 - this is where I have to disagree with you. I have been in the business only half the time you have, but I’ve never lost one day of my PTO. It is a part of our wellness program to take time off and it is a part of my benefit package to get the time off.
I take all my vacation every year, less the balance I like to keep in case I lose my job. Best time is between projects, but I also schedule far in advance so projects know going in and have no excuses after they staff me.
Feel sorry for all of you that don't use it. Plan better or grow a pair of ⚾⚾.
I’ve been in consulting 15 years and only one year did I lose 2 days. If your project is telling you that you have to cancel scheduled PTO bc of project requirements I bet they would work something out with you for 2019.
Hah, I'm losing 90 hours this year and it has nothing to do with bad planning, just busy projects with no bandwidth to lose. Just how it goes in the business sometimes.
Our PTO includes sick days. If you didn’t get sick, you may not use all days is how I look it at.
If the pto was already planned then you should push back to your team. Especially if you’ve already booked travel arrangements, etc. If you’re just trying to scramble to use pto before the end of the year, it’s your fault for not planning ahead.
Does any of our PTO carry over?
D2, it only Carries over for one year.
Haha not going to happenz
ZERO
If you already had it planned then I don’t see the issue. Simply tell them you had that planned and they need to work around it or find someone who doesn’t have vacation planned that time. Projects always come up and is managements job to staff based on availability. My response would be, politely of course, that they have three options; 1. Find someone else, 2. Pay you for the vacation time lost (and any lost money if you have to cancel travel plans), or 3. Figure out a way to have the time allowed to carryover to next year. Would tell them I need 2 or 3 in writing prior to the planned vacation.
Now if hadn’t already planned the vacation time and it isn’t on the calendar then I’d say that’s on you and you need to plan further ahead next time. I already have all my planned and possible vacation days on my calendar through next year.
I’ve had luck with getting permission to bill PTO while working in December then bill the project for those hours in the next year when taking PTO. Our FY runs through May so it doesn’t affect project financials.
