A nice tie ($100+) or a pair of cufflinks if he typically would suit up pre-Covid.

OP, I usually get my ties custom from Sam Hober, Vanda Fine Clothing, or E.G. Cappelli. What’s awesome is you can get custom length, width, taper/shape, etc. and let them know your knot and dimple preference, and so on. Hober and Vanda have great customer service, and Hober is surprisingly reasonably priced for what you get. Also a ton of unique and interesting fabrics at all those places.
A lot of high end ties off the rack tend to be too short for guys over 6’ or too slim for heavier set guys, so the custom route is awesome. You can even get a monogram on the tie keeper from Hober, if you’re so inclined.

It’s a hair over - but AirPods. OR active sitting stool. Huge game changer and only like $100

Are they the type to buy themselves nice things? Asking because clothes and accessories might be tough if they have their own particular taste. A nice bottle of their favorite liquor is always a solid stuffer or add on.
