Does anyone know if the same 401k rules apply at EY as Accenture so they will cap the contributions coming for your check say if you hit the yearly limits in August? So if you hit the 22,500 in 23 there is no way to go over for tax issues. Thinking to frontload next year contributions if market is down. EY

My colleagues are my friends
And why shouldn’t they be? We spend more time together than I do with anyone else in my life. Would be exhausting if we weren’t close and able to share things. Of course it’ll never be the same as your non-work friends, but I still consider them friends
Funny how many people complain that this lifestyle doesn’t let them make friends, but also complain that this lifestyle forces them to spend some together with colleagues.
Isn’t that one of the ways you make friends?!

^ why does everything need to be a group activity? I’m an adult.
This is pretty standard in consulting...
Suggest team workouts 3x a week and see how interested everyone REALLY is in spending all of your time together 😂
Well if you’re an adult, let your team know you want some alone time, you know... like an adult 🙄
Frame this post as a reminder for when you’re even mildly thinking about getting hitched
My director only wants to go to Cheesecake Factory, Olive Garden, or PF Chang’s. Fml.
I can’t stand this. And then people get offended when I don’t want to eat dinner 3x per week
I'm with you OP. Took me time to get used to spending so much time with people who aren't my friends.
That is why I stay at a different hotel if I can. And make excuses of meeting local "friends"
Sooo because we work in consulting we should forget to draw lines between our personal and professional lives? Sorry... hard pass. I've seen way too many drunk analysts/consultants forget themselves in the presence of SM's and MD's. Have also been in too many awkward situations with tipsy managers and SMs making inappropriate comments to/about me. I'd rather take the L and be the antisocial one.
I honestly like this stuff, it's nice to get to know my team even if we aren't BFFs. I must be the only one.
Haha clear division between introverts vs extroverts determined through varying reactions to this post.
Introvert: Omg nooo, too much people time need personal time. 🙅🏻♀️
Extrovert: 🤷🏻♀️ I see no issue here as long as the team is cool and gets along...
I’ll just leave this here:

When my team asks me to join them for dinner, I have as much enthusiasm as I would if they asked me to join them for naked yoga.
And eat dinner together.
Word. Eating dinner every night together....No thanks
One team dinner or activity a week. I like the team bonding time - I think it pays dividends in our work. But once per week is plenty, thank you very much.
