I’m just now getting rejection emails from companies I applied to a little over 2 months ago. So the silence in between definitely wasn’t great news. But I did actually get an interview scheduled from a job I applied to forever ago. Just really slow going on both sides it seems.
I been getting about an 80% response (auto/form email rejection). 65 carefully selected jobs-95-100% qualified, well tailored resumes for ATS and personalized cover letters, resulting in only one phone screen from a recruiter. Some of the rejections didn’t come until 2-3 months after I applied and after the posting was closed or no longer listed. I just received a rejection from a company that I applied to back in February and it’s a huge company that has a sophisticated application process.

Some of these jobs are getting more than hundreds of applicants. Very competitive (like WFH) ones are getting thousands. As someone who is involved in hiring, no one has time to respond to ones you don't think will be a good fit. Not all platforms have auto-reject responses sent when you decline. If you are not getting many positive responses, I would have someone take a look at your resume and get feedback on that. A good resume is so important. You could have the best qualifications and experience, but if it's not a good resume you can have a terrible time trying to get someone to take a chance on you.
Are you submitting through the job board portal (like LinkedIn) or applying directly through the company website? I read an article the other day that said there is data on companies that post jobs on LinkedIn, but are ignoring the candidates that apply through their “apply” button (supposedly there is somewhere you can see if your application has been reviewed?). I think the statistic they listed was 90% no review or response rate for applicants who applied through a job portal.
In this job market I really don't think people are getting responses to the majority of their applications. Some people are going through an entire round of interviews and still getting ghosted at the end (awful I know). But I think it's just the new norm not to hear back on every application you send in
OP you are not alone. I have applied to what feels like 500 jobs at this point and I have gotten maybe three rejections and one interview. Its insane to me that they just don't give any feedback anymore and just leave you wondering if they are going to call. But that is the current job market for you.
My husband is experiencing the same problem as he searches for a new job. He’s not even receiving a no, just no response. Keep pressing on, what’s for you will come. 🙂
