I am currently working as a PayPal AWF/CW in contractor's payroll for the past 3 months. I heard many got converted from AWF to FTE. So what is the process for FTE conversion? Should I clear some Interviews? Also how much would the salary increment be? On par with regular hiring? Any minimum time limit of being in AWF before FTE conversion?

How hard is it to get an interview for SWE at FAANG outside of on campus recruiting? I’m in GT’s OMSCS program right now, hoping to take advantage of career fairs this fall, but I don’t know if I’ll have enough time to prepare for the technical interviews before then. I had two recruiters today reschedule a meeting. And this is the second time rescheduling. Honesty, not sure what value recruiters bring. Is this common now? Is it hard to have respect for people’s time and their schedule? Reschedule once I can understand. But twice is just stupidity. I hope AI wipes out all bad recruiters who don’t give af. Sorry for the vent. Maybe it’s just my bad luck then.

Had a scratchy throat yesterday that has since gone, low grade fever all day today (99-99.9). Have felt off and spacey today, and had a headache which went away after taking Advil. Have an appt to get covid testing tomorrow. Test is thru my doc office and they said they’d have results within 24 hrs. Even so, I currently have severe anxiety about all of it. Anyone have advice for how to cope until I know exactly what’s going on with me? I feel like this stress isn’t good for my immune system.

I started my new job completely remotely in June and when we go back to the office, it would be a 1.2 hour, 40-mile one way commute.. Would it be entitled of me to ask to come into the office 3x/week since by the time that we return to the office, I’ve already proven that I can work efficiently from home? My family is middle class and I feel inadequate around his family because they’re so wealthy. I feel depressed because I can’t live his lifestyle and sad for our future. His family just bought a house for us and my family can’t even buy a second car. Idk how to go about this situation.
