Is the work culture at Salesforce banglore good even for contract workers. How is the pressure and risk? are contract employees treated well too?

Base salary is lower or total comp is lower?
Without a competing offer it’s much more difficult. Google has salary bands they adhere to.
No.

Think it’s illegal for them to ASK about your comp in CA. But not illegal for you to volunteer that info. I just negotiated with Google based on my current comp. Got a nice bump in equity

Nope :)
Negotiate on the equity... I was an AP at MBB and came over and Google increased the equity to match my old comp. Now with the appreciation, I'm quite a bit above. Also be very nice to your recruiter... They are the ones that negotiate for higher pay with the limits of the bands.
Nope, they didn't mention that. I told them that I wanted to match current comp and volunteered the info
Mck - what group is the offer with? Trying to do a little benchmarking!

When matching your current comp, how did you share that info? Your W2?

Google has its own formula for determining salary and that stuff. The only things you can negotiate are sign on and equity.
My recommendation is that you look at the pay per hour. Also we do annual equity refreshes that can be substantial. I'm on target to come close to doubling my total comp in two years (this includes stock appreciation).
If you are looking for total comp then this is not the place for you.
Also...if this is the same mckinsey AP as the other post...I'm starting to have concerns that you are joining the wrong company.
I would seriously reconsider joining as all indicators say that you will not be happy here
Is this the first number from recruiter?
How did you respond when you heard the numbers? What next steps were agreed? Also do you have a sense of your interview scores?
In short, if these are first numbers from recruiter, there is flexibility but will depend on your relationship with the recruiter, interview scores, precious comp discussions and your BATNA etc.
What was the offer? There are enough data points to see if there is room.
