I got an email from a recruiter from PayPal about a position I didn’t apply for. How do I know that? Because on workday you can see all the jobs I applied for. I applied for one position in the company but got reply for another position I am not interested in. The recruiter wants to set up a phone interview? How would you react? Because I would love working there, but not in this position,
Would you say something during the phone call or before?

I would look at sports management programs either online or in your area. Keep networking on LinkedIn, indeed, etc. You never know where a conversation can lead. Tech sales is a tough job, shows you’re a hard worker. Keep applying to companies you’re interested in. Don’t focus entirely on what you’ll be doing there. You really just want to get a foot in the door (show a willingness to learn) and from there it’s a lot easier to get into what you want. Hope this helps!
Preferably graduate programs. They’ll allow you to build a network throughout your time there. Not sure if you’re on a budget tho, in that case I would just go for certs and keep networking.

I was in the sports arena and most of the marketing and sales people went to tech. The grass isn’t always greener.
That’s actually a great idea, will do!!
I’m the exact opposite as you lol. Worked at the NBA for 2 years and now I wanna get into tech sales. I went in on contract (they call it project employee) so if you really just want to get your foot in the door I’d look into that. I didn’t get converted to full time even though I absolutely deserved it, but that was partially due to Covid. You’d also definitely be taking a MAJOR paycut even at the FTE level and the major sports leagues don’t pay as much as you’d think. So if I were you I’d really do some deep soul searching and decide if working in sports is worth giving up the great career path you’re already on
