Anyone have any idea when the hiring freeze might end within AWS ProServ? I’m currently at Amazon and have a TS clearance, PMP & CSM. I come from a Big4 consulting firm with a background in Enterprise Performance. I’ll be honest and say I’m not feeling very safe in my current role with the ongoing layoffs. Instead of leaving, I’d love to go back to my “consulting roots” and join the ProServ team. I’m taking my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam next weekend. Hoping this freeze is lifted soon.

Have a big interview tomorrow. The question I dread the most is about why you’re looking for a new job. The honest answer is that there isn’t enough work to go around at my agency and I want to get ahead of the inevitable layoffs. What’s the best way to tell them this? I’m a CRC who manages Investigator- led clinical research projects and I want to transition to a PM role in industry (I would slightly prefer not a PM role in clinical trials since I don’t have clinical trial experience.) I’ve applied to PM roles at many biotech companies (e.g. Charles River, ICON, Paraxel) but only got 1 interview which didn’t work out. Which companies should I look to for an entry level PM role? Any good startups to consider? Anyone have any insight or advice?

I accepted a $115K base salary, 13% bonus, 10k sign on bonus (scientist supervisor) job and two weeks later, got a $135K base, 17% bonus, and 15K sign on bonus (Senior scientist role) offer from another company. Should I accept the new offer ? How do I tell the previous company about this? Also, I’ve already negotiated with the first company and the $115K base is the negotiated salary. I really do not prefer one company over the other. They’re both great! I’m very confused here. TIA🙏
