Had a recruiter reach out to be about a senior manager role for “internal consulting”. Don’t know much about Gartner, but found it strange they’d recruit me for an SM role (currently a senior consultant). Took a look at pay, and sounds like I could get a 25k bump from what I make now.

Anyone have insight into Gartner? I suspect their job titles don’t map to B4. Any insights appreciated!!

Manager FP&A is most traditional choice but what has traction in the market as a finance manager title since I have the freedom to choose? Strategic Finance Manager?

At what point do you draw the line on WLB? Working insane hours on a long/term project with what feels like no end in sight. It’s not sustainable but clearly expected. Could you get fired for drawing lines in the sand and saying (example) “come 8:30 every night I’m logging off”. That’s a 65 hour work week as-is but I currently am up until midnight working consistently. For context I’ve been rated as a strong performer consistently and am not new to the job so it’s not a lack of understanding.
