Has anyone been laid off while on maternity or medical leave, in this market? Curious about how much severance was given/negotiated. Thanks in advance!

I really hope this hasn’t happened to anyone. I do know an associate that had to take a class cut when they went on leave for a family member’s health.

Have any beside nurses attempted to transfer to an outpatient/care coordinator position? Did you get a pay cut? Was it worth it? Any regrets? Cost of living is crazy these days. I got offered a position and the cut was 8 dollars less per hour. I felt offended. I was basically a new grad salary.

Hello! I talked with a recruiter at GAP Solutions Inc. about a Clinical Advisor position in Rockville, Maryland and asked for a range of 125-135k and I got a written message that if all goes well, they can give me 125k. Typical! Research shows the average salary as 151k and I'd like to push for closer to 140k. Do I keep my mouth shut until after the interview or do I say something now? I don't want to dissuade them but I also don't want to waste time. I make about $110k now.

Hiya… Can we really have it all?
I’m due to go back to work after some time off & not sure how to approach a salary discussion…
I was due for a promotion b4 leaving & that may still be on the table … however the current business unit I work in doesn’t have a good financial projection this year..so may offer less than 7% but with all the increases and now living in London that will go straight to the tax man… how do I negotiate a salary increase pls?

I am seeking new employment, I was recently laid off due to lack of work. I would very much appreciate any leads. I have a Bs in Construction Management and over 15 years experience with Revit and AutoCAD and 7 years of plumbing design. I have solid references and impeccable work ethic. I truly enjoy what I do. Working remotely the last three years has become a way of my life and supports our current situation well, therefore I am seeking a similar role but will consider other opportunities.

Creatives, let’s talk creative briefs.

I recently attended a webinar with Rosie Arnold (ex ECD BBH).

Someone asked “What do creatives want from strategists, what does a great brief consist of?”

Rosie said to keep it dead simple and that actually, a smart insight, can throw a creative and the process and that it’s better to just have a simple one.

Question:
What are your 2 top tips for a creative brief?
- addressing one GOOD (to adopt or consider)
& one BAD (to change or avoid)

How does your firm treat COVID leave? My firm is giving me credit for time off but I was out for nearly 10 days. (the worst version of covid I have ever experienced). I feel uneasy about my November hours as having covid in the middle of the month and the holiday really threw off my productivity and workload. Learning how to be a mom and an associate has been extremely tough and I have felt burnt out on multiple occasions this year. I know there are a ton of posts on billable hours requirements at many firms but do any other mid/senior level associates spend a TON of time on non-billables - group/dept./firm meetings; training; events; business development (writing articles, doing webinars, networking; outside association events); etc.? I feel like the number of hours spent on this is lost in the discussion sometimes and I know I spend an additional 300-400 hours on this per year. Anyone else?
