Do you really want to continue to work for this company? There are plenty of pharmacist jobs available - region specific maybe but big cities like chicago are handing out signing bonuses for retail.
That’s not bad. I’m sure if you consider the perks and PTO, it makes it a little higher. Like if you get 5 weeks PTO, that’s $153,461 a year.
Yeah I heard a pharmacist got retaliated against, lost his license for getting COVID, and now works at McDonald’s.
Jokes aside, I think it’s illegal to retaliate and why would there be a retaliation? How?
It is illegal but it happens
An impossible schedule working until 10 pm and back the next morning at 6 am for example
And that’s just one example
Find a new job. You don’t deserve to be treated like that.
I haven't been retaliated against personally but if I was, I probably initially would be offended and it's only natural to be offended and that's okay. Just remember, you can't control other people, you can only control yourself. ☀️
everyone was forced to get vaccinated and people still got covid!!! most companies took payroll protection funds from the government and if your employer retaliates because you contracted covid, report them !! the government will sue them for that free money… and you should sue also
Yup. Husband and I got COVID I was in a patient facing role waiting for my test results to come back after my husband was confirmed (I had all symptoms) and I was told until the test says positive I better be at work and just wear a mask (in person) since I’m vaccinated. I begged for work from home and was refused, when I asked why not they said it was up to their discretion (small company). I asked for clarification that they refused and forwarded the email to a family friend who specializes in employment law. I had had previous issues with the employer permitting harassment and even encouraging it and my friend wanted proof to assist if I decided to press charges. I refused to visit patients and took the day off before due to being ill (with COVID and hubbs having it) and the next day that I was forced to go to work my employer fired me and stated that “I knew why I was being terminated and they would not discuss it” my exit paperwork said terminated but no reason (convient) and I was very sick and told that I would not get my last check unless I signed it (holding it hostage and I was not able to research if it was legal or not, I just wanted to go home). I signed it, immediately signed up for unemployment (they tried to fight it tooth and nail, and lost) months later I got my pathetic amount of unemployment. I prepaid for my health insurance at this company and they canceled my health insurance next day (knowing I had COVID), and refused to offer COBRA. Thank god my case was mild and didn’t bankrupt me, and I was able to get my husbands insurance quickly (1 month uninsured). I got a new job at 10k more and work from home that I love, but I did have to wait a bit to start. I was told that since in Michigan you can be fired for nothing it didn’t count as retaliation, that I could take them to court, but I chose not to. I was exhausted and needed to move forward. I wiped my hands clean of that place asap. I had a million other horror stories from there, but that’s how I was retaliated against.
