I started working out again. Game-changer on many levels.
Sounds like a case of burnout that drinking was numbing. Been there. Get outside early in the morning, find time for yourself or with friends.
This was me. It’ll be different for everyone but I find time outside… love the early AM walks to start the day… and really leaned into some positive hobbies. I took up chess for example. Later evenings when I was tired was originally the worst… I do have some NA beers sometimes now more for the ritual aspect which hits the spot (can recommend some if you want).
In fact, exactly the opposite - for the last 2 years. Start at 9; finish by 12. Wake up-do my routine (kids-work-gym-cook-kids-work), then back to my 9-12.
Good for you?

Echo that working out is a game changer. Find something to train for and if you have a few friends who will do that with you, even better. Shared goals and shared adventures can be a ton of fun and something to look forward to.
I pulled my calf really bad a couple weeks ago. Haven’t been able to work out since and I feel miserable pretty much every night by the time I get in bed.
I think this is simply because you don’t know how to spend your drinking time. You should find a new hobby to help you feel happy.
Microdose shrooms or lsd, it does wonders for depression
I had the same problem. Drinking became my favorite hobby. Especially during the lock downs. I still drink more than I should but I found going to the gym in the morning helps. Also, taking melatonin instead of scotch to help me fall asleep helps as well.
