My wife has her joining date extended from Randstad and no joining date has been provided. What are the chances of her offer getting revoked. She has around 1 year of experience in HR. She got to know about this just on the last day of her notice period. She doesnt have any other offer as she didnt expect the joining date to get extended. Randstad. Just my opinion, but you got to look after yourself first. If for some reason they let you go right away when you put in the notice, would you be fine going without that pay?
Look out for yourself. When you leave you'll be replaced within a week or two.
I agree! I was the senior for my team, gave my notice and got replaced in 3 days. Words that came out of the partner - “everyone is replaceable” so do what’s best for you!
Also wouldn’t recommend it and honestly it’s not your problem to figure out. If that many people really are planning on leaving then it’s a bigger problem that the firm will have to solve. I’m transferring at the end of the month and I know my team is struggling to find a replacement bc we’re also tight on seniors but that’s the nature of the job. Just do your best to hand stuff off before you leave.
The firm made a choice not to give bonuses or raises, mass turnover is the cost of that choice. Look after yourself first because I promise the firm isn’t.

Last year I didn’t see anyone leave at this time. This year 5 of our team members ended up leaving last 3 weeks

Don’t tell your group. It’s not good for you.
Get the job, put in your 2 weeks notice, and leave.
I have left public accounting twice.
The first time, I got my new job towards the end of our tax busy season, so I gave the PIC a 30 day notice, got my returns done so no one would be cursing my name, and danced out the door. Everyone was very appreciative because I had the majority of the hard or long tax returns. To me, I'm still a member of their team until the day I'm out that door. So I stayed and got my work done and then I left.
The second time was during our dead season. I gave a 2 week notice there because I wasn't as involved in so many different things.
You run the risk of being let go on the spot if you give them notice earlier than when you intend to actually leave.
I've heard that they can tell you to just stop coming to work the very next day but still pay you for the two week notice period as a courtesy. But if you intended to stay longer than that then it kinda sucks for you. I can't say what's exactly going to happen but I've heard of this happening pre-COVID.
Do not give more than 2 weeks. If they went to fire you they certainly wouldn’t give you that much notice. Always assume the day you put in your notice your pay could stop (likely won’t but still). Protect yourself!
Put in two weeks and work like hell the final two weeks. Make sure you know who your references will be from this job in the future. Strengthen those relationships on the way out the door.
