I am currently pursuing a position to be a 401k workplace planning consultant with Fidelity Investments. I would like to connect with someone who has gone through that training and early hiring process to make sure I have a solid understanding of the position. This is specifically for the Raleigh/Durham NC area if possible.

Know the 14 Leadership Principles. It’s all behavioral questions.
Ah 14 not 11! No wonder i never made it to the loop!
I've made it past the recruiter and to the first interview but never made it to the Loop. The Loop is like six or seven interviews in a row where you prove how you have embodied Amazon's 11 leadership principles in your career. That's at least the successful approach (my wife works at amazon). It should be noted this was NOT for Day 1 their internal agency, this was to work with the group who do celebrity voices for Alexa. That was extra interesting because the text-to-speech group is actually in Poland so my interview was with who would have been my manager in Poland. I’ve also applied a lot but only made it to interview the once so far
A few years ago, I had a phone interview with the hiring manager (would have been my direct boss) for a design position that their recruiter reached out to me about. The hiring manager spent the first 15-20 minutes talking about himself (his patents, his education, his work history, etc.). This went on way longer than your typical introduction. I tried a couple of times to make it a two way conversation by bringing up a common experience in response to things he’d say. He’d then reply with why his experience was bigger/better. It was really weird. By the time he stopped talking about himself and started interviewing me, I’d pretty much lost interest in the position. I emailed the recruiter later and politely said that after hearing more details about the role and giving it some thought, I didn’t think the position was the right fit for me.
I’d avoid Amazon. Except for the free two day shipping.

Did the loop and got an offer. Declined. The loop is typical tech company nonsense - different people you meet with have different goals for their time with you. Usually one plays the spoiler to see how you react. I declined because everyone I met in the advertising group seemed miserable. It was a Couple years back and now I know a couple there that seem to enjoy it! So maybe it’s cool now depending on the team.
Yes. Currently work there after getting recruited for a role I didn’t apply for. It was a pretty straight forward process. The in person interview is typical of most places, but you obviously have to do your research and layout your questions in relation to the leadership principles. From initial contact to offer was about four weeks. I enjoy my new role a lot. It’s a much better environment from the agency world. Everyone is very intelligent and we don’t waste time with needless tasks. Everything is based in data.
Wait that was Audible. Not Amazon.

Not true for either Audible or Amazon. Know lots of ex agency people on both.
At lease some of you got a response. I found the application process to be a black hole.

Yup...hence my OP. It’s become sort of an inside joke (with myself only) where I apply to ever amazon job now just to see if I ever ever ever ever get a response. Stuff I’m qualified for, over qualified, you name it.
What kind of work do their creative department actually do? Every piece of work I’ve seen has been credited to another agency.
You’re making the assumption this person wants to work at their internal agency. Plenty of design work to be done in groups that manage the site, creative direction, copy and design for everything from Alexa skills to grocery stores
I applied. Never heard anything. I know someone in HR, they told me that they don’t normally hire Agency people.
Yes. Normal process (at least three interviews in, it was). Standard screener, calls with hiring manager and other member of team. Didn’t get to the end because they decided to change the role, so maybe there is a test or something at the end but pretty normal up front.

Now that their new global creative director is the woman from that racist agency in Detroit, I would avoid
Keep in mind - they are learnING not learned and changed. They still have work to do as it pertains to lack of diversity, diversity in senior leadership and microaggressions towards the few diverse employees they have
