Has anyone ever negotiated a layoff contingency clause? In negotiations with a VP level job at a smaller public company (10B MC). Am 45/55 to leave BCG, and a guarantee to not be laid off or have a significant parachute if a recession persists might put me over the edge, but don’t know how common or likely that is.

Have an interview with a company I really want to work for tomorrow. My last job I was laid off b/c of an acquisition&recently accepted a job at a diff company b/c I couldnt afford not to. I got this invite shortly after. The place I’m interviewing at the job wouldn’t start til next year. I dont want to seem like a job hopper. Do i tell them I’m at a new role or just not bring it up? The acquisition was public so they can see Im no longer employed with the most recent work history on my resume

What is a good interview answer for leaving a job after a few months when the real reason is that you’re sleeping with one eye open in hopes of not being on the chopping block after two rounds of massive layoffs? Company culture is at an all-time low, and it will only go down from here from what I’ve seen in the short months I’ve been there.

One issue with the work from home revolution will be the offshoring of jobs. I got laid off and my replacement will be from Mexico City. One time zone away and probably half my salary. It is what it is.
