PwC 🐠, I interviewed with the firm about 6 months ago for a Senior Associate position on the forensics team. I wasn’t extended an offer because the position was given to an internal transfer, at least what I was told. I tried reaching out to the recruiter I worked with last time but the email bounced back and wouldn’t be delivered. I was hoping to see / reapply if the group still was looking for seniors.
In your opinion, would it be best to reapply as a cold application?

Husband is a patent lawyer - top tier school. Electrical engineering background. With engineering background, there is still a high demand for both litigation and prosecution attorneys...probably can still do some trademark copy right etc without engineering/hard sciences. Pros: Good money - especially in Dallas/Austin markets. Cons: Longer hours than consulting.
Also Tier 3 law schools are very risky.
Talk to someone in the field. They will give you the down low.

Surprisingly I've been told that IP lawyers never have a hard time finding a job out of law school and pay is always 150+ starting
A friend of mine just wrapped up a program on this. He went to a Tier 3 law school but seemed to land alright. Had a background in engineering and some practical work experience before returning to school.
Pwc2 - what kind of engineering?
It's not as glamorous as you think it is.
Agreed @P1 - somehow my friend was able to secure quite a bit of support and come out with minimal debt. Although, I was shocked that he found a solid job fairly early in the process.
Could be contacts. I had a friend who went to Tier 3 but landed a good job in a Boston law firm because he had family contacts there.
if you have the hard science background go for it, my friend went into IP law but didnt have the hard science background so is stuck w copyright stuff and it's definitely less lucrative/in demand than the hard science background that lets you sit for the patent bar
