JPMorgan Chase recently introduced a policy change to increase the notice period to 60 days. I'm a 602 and resigned recently and yet my LWD is showing up as 30 days from now. Anyone recently resigned can confirm if they are facing the same or new policy is in effect. This is causing confusion with the next companies I'm interviewing with.

Never. An interviewer would have to seriously cross the line for me to even consider it. Even if I realize I'm not interested in the position mid-interview, I'm going to stick it out out of professional courtesy.

It’s the polite thing to do isn’t it. On the flip side, the interviewer isn’t going to end the interview early either just because they know they’re not going to hire you
I have walked out, especially if the place was dirty. I also walked out when the interview was in a group setting
The place was very dirty and it was a group Interview and there wasn't anyone else working there
Power move if you’re giving the interview

Oh absolutely
My advice is focus on the role and what value you can add to the team and organisation.
Sometimes in life we see things black or white, an interview is stressful in itself.
My advice get through the interview process and see the outcome.
You can always ask questions if a job offer is possible.
I joined a company many years ago as a Financial Controller, the MD interviewed me, with a referral for further interviews with board members and then the finance team.
Out of the 3 interviews I was offered the role a good starting salary.
I stated the role and as the first few weeks I was finding my way, I had suspicions of the integrity of the MD.
The chap at the top of the tree reporting the finances back to the investors and board of the group who owned this company.
Surely not, as my time became more involved looking at the numbers, the process and procedure and the way the company worked Ipicked up in a few days.
Accounts is accounts, but I noticed the system the MD was reporting was not the live copy of the live copy data in the same system.
So I asked a simple question as he did everything in a lap top, away from the main system. He took a copy of the data before the month end, and reported on these figures instead of not reporting on the live data.
The management accounts and all the associated reports were all different.
So one day his lap top was on, and I know it is wrong, but I decided to print tb v sheet and P&L.
I then checked the audit trail numbers printed the last page.
This data was completely different, so I noted the differences, I noted the missing transactions from the lap top system which the MD WAS running and using to produce the accounts.
I compared the figures and it appeared various costs were not added and also some supplier balances of unknown creditors nade with payments made to these the last few working days of the month.
It transpired he was a crook. And a very dishonest person, so I had to make 1000% my findings were accurate, correct and my initial persona on this person was correct.
I then asked to meet the board off site, I produced the correct accounts showing a loss, he showed a further profit accumulating in 4 months profit being net of 27%. The forecast showed 8%.
When the board asked him why the profits were so high his reply was, he found cost saving elements. Less wastage, reduction in overtime with wages and increased sales.
My reports showed different reasons, he was exaggerating the profits to get better bonus paid directly to him as performance based.
However the true figures showed a much lesser profit.
So this was a difficult decision, but one, which led me to speak to the board prove alley findings, also show payments he made to suppliers, but no invoices or orders on file.
So with this over a few days my disbelief became fact.
This resulted in the investigation, and a question and answer meeting when he presented the incorrect false accounts for personal gain.
I was asked to attend this meeting, to listen but also prove his figures were made up.
He stormed out of the meeting, left the site, the company dismissed him with immediate effect, they also involved the police, and after about 6 months as he cheated on his salary reporting less. Paying less tax and NI it became a revenue matter so the police arrested it went to court and he was sent to jail for 10 years, and he was disqualified to ever becoming a director.
This happened in 2004, his salary was 80k basic plus upto 25 bonus.
He also paid 25k to two rogue companies which he owned.
So this was an incredible feeling for me considering all this happened the first 3 months of joining. I am saying this story which is 100% true because it may help others who are put in a difficult position.
Always be open, always check, and always have the courage to speak to the hierarchy of what ever company you work for.
The company thanked me for brining it to their attention, they did have doubts, a year before I joined but the person in finance either didnt have the skills or knowledge or he was afraid in case his findings may have been wrong.
I was personally rewarded for the extra work I did, and so we're other members of the finance team
I did this recently but it was at the HR screening point and I found out the role was a sole contributor manager role so I politely said so sorry but before you continue I don’t think this role aligns with my professional goals due to X and I don’t want to mislead you and continue with the interview. They were happy I said something and said that’s what the HR interview is for. I’d do the same thing at any point in an interview process if I realized I for sure didn’t want the job - it’s much ruder to waste ppls time
Why did you want to walk out of the interview in the few times you referred to? That seems pretty unusual given how hard it can be to get an interview.
Chief
Not recently but it was back when the job market was a little easier. I just knew that I didn’t want to be working with those sorts of people who were interviewing me
Walk away, no need to waste your time or theirs.
Chief
What do you even say?
A few times seems excessive but I did had the urge to do so for once because of how rude the interviewers were. They were condescending as if I owe my life to them if I was hired. They made me feel very small and not the place I wanted to work anyway.
Chief
That sounds horrible. What sort of things were they saying to you?
