Has anyone here ever switched departments? I’m in media, but lately I’ve had an urge to make the switch to copywriting. If you’ve had luck making a move, I’d love to hear about it. Not sure where to start or if it’s even feasible.

I am currently working in as Oracle JDE an S&D consultant for last 2 years, how can I make a switch to a profile of Oracle SCM cloud. Since recruiters are looking for the candidate with relevant experience only theoretical knowledge doesn’t help they need a candidate with practical Experience who has worked on an project So can anybody help me to understand how can one switch the technology from JD Edwards to SCM Cloud ?

Is it possible to make a transition to VC (ideally senior associate / vp role) after a two year Associate stint in MM PE? I worry that the prior interest in moving late stage will be frowned upon by early stage investors among other issues

So I had been working as medical interpreter up to the early part of this year. Today, during an interview, the Director with whom I was interviewing genuinely urged me to consider pursuing a career as a PA or even attempt to go to medical school. I had considered it in passing before but today was about the third or fourth time that someone had earnestly nudged me in that direction. Has anyone here made such a career pivot before? I love working in healthcare, there’s nothing like it.

How does one most effectively make the transition into management from an Individual Contributor?

I've been an individual contributor for 4 years in Tech, have 8 years of experience total. I'm finding it difficult to make the management transition despite having management experience, performing beyond expectations, and having a genuine passion for enablement and development.

I am a project coordinator but I do everything under the sun. Created project tracker. Can someone explain how billable hours work? At a new agency and although I had to fill timesheets at my previous agencies, they were mainly used to ensure we weren’t over servicing a client/for setting the appropriate retainer for contract renewals. I asked ppl at my agency but haven’t gotten a proper explanation. I get the impression that billing to the agency admin code isn’t recommended, and my manager said he bills everything to client codes, but that doesn’t make sense to me .

I've never worked on anything for TikTok and hope I never have to. TikTok is from hell. I was on it one time for about 10 minutes and could feel myself becoming mentally unwell in just those 10 minutes. The human brain is not designed to deal with the sheer amount of sensory overload that app gives you. I'm pretty sure TikTok is one of the main reasons we are constantly hearing about how much Gen Z struggles with mental health.
