I found headway and alma that takes my insurance and I pay only $30/session.
Not that great. Been on for 3-5 weeks and therapist keeps telling me I’m not alone and everyone is going through same issues. Doesn’t let me finish a sentence. Doesn’t feel helpful when I’m trying to work through the issues and progress not just feel better that others have them too.
That’s not how therapy should feel. Sorry to hear this. I’d recommend looking for someone better.
I think it is worth a try and there are always offers for free trials. Unfortunately therapy is like dating so often times you won’t find the perfect match the first time around. Try out the platform and if you don’t fit with the first therapist they match you with try again. The positive is to just start talking and then you can begin discovering exactly what time of help is most helpful for you
I tried it about two years ago so my experience might be dated but it really wasn’t the right fit for me. I was kind of in crisis mode but felt like I was being treated like I only had mild anxiety or something. She was sweet and I do think she cared, but just didn’t feel like there was any info presented to me beyond what I could Google on my own. I ended up finding the right fit by using Psychology Today and filtering for the type of therapy I was interested in and the issues I was experiencing.
Almost! I signed up but then looked into other places bc it was still pretty expensive for my current situation then. Ended up finding a place where I'm paying $0 through my insurance and have been going weekly since October.
I do have a friend that used it during and after his divorce. And he loved how accessible his therapist was & really felt like he wasn't paying that much in comparison to other places.
Another thing to consider is most therapists are doing teletherapy only right now so it gives you more options if that's the way you want to go now & into the future.
