I am no longer a creative. I am still a copywriter. There’s just nothing creative about the work anymore.
I went from working in advertising for 28 years all the way up to CD from a production artist (I’ve done traditional, digital, and UX) until I aged out (the week I stopped coloring my hair). I started up a luxury black car service that caters to out of town foodies, Hollywood production agencies and C-class corporate executives. I miss advertising so much.
Why don’t u start your own advertising agency?
Went from being an art director to working in production. Love it!
What is your role in production?
35 yrs and still at it. I figure I may have 2 years left. What to do next, no freaking idea? For the most part, I loved every bit of it. I don't mind, not doing big. sexy stuff anymore. Now that I'm a desk jockey more than ever. It's churn-and-burn, more, more. Workflows and systems, Yawn. I miss shoots, working with great photographers, directors, studios, etc. The travel. It's a different game today, and I'm finally getting burned out. I've been working remotely for the past 2 years. I miss the people more than the work.
Why only 2 years left? By choice or you feel aged out?
Thought about teaching in college, once I "outgrow" creative field.
More Like sick and tired of it. Lol!
