Has anyone obtained CISSP recently? Is it possible to get it in 3 months and what can you focus on to ensure success?

Hi! I have worked in management roles in tech, mainly in analytics, for approximately 10 years. My TC has fluctuated (currently around 135K CAD), but it seems like it's relatively easy to breach the 100K bar, but hard to breach the 150K bar. I now work at the CBC, but I have worked in the private sector too. What is the most realistic way to move to 200K? 1) Continue moving the ladder to a VP position, 2) Switch to Pre-Sale, 3) Switch to Consulting, 4) Work from a U.S. company from Canada.

What do you wish you knew before moving to Australia or NZ? Seriously considering applying for an internal transfer but I'd like to know what I'm getting into first. Researching as well just asking for first hand experiences from consultants who have done it.

When do you think is the right time to take your side gig and make it your main gig?

I started a job with a restaurant as part time they hired me at a higher wage but after working for one week the other manager came to me telling me that they can’t afford what the other manager and I agreed on so now i have to work at less or I could look for another work options, she meant I should leave otherwise. I’m currently a bankruptcy paralegal. Not sure I want to stay in bankruptcy forever. I’ve heard it can be really hard to change practice types and break into a new area of law. Anyone have experience or tips/advice on doing so?

I am prior military and went to law school. I had a family to take care of while I was a student, hence I went as fast as possible to get to a paycheck, graduating in 2 years, and bypassing the standard summer clerkships. How could I get some experience strictly remote? I am w-2 working as an accountant in healthcare, have passed the bar and am working on my CPA license (studying starts at 3 am, then work FT). I would like to eventually hang a shingle as a tax lawyer, but need experience. TIA!

Which resume line would provide better signaling of talent to employers?

MBB? Or a mid cap VC ($500 AUM, not a name brand like Sequoia). Post MBA level at both, no promotions assumed. Not necessarily focused on future VC path over the long term, but interested in experimenting.

Hi , I am 48 and from India, recently after covid i had to switch my career from manufacturing to IT. i underwent training in Salesforce for an year and then fortunately got recruited and its been now more than a year in Salesforce plus my 17+ year experirence in manufacturing. One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
