Happened to me last year. Was laid off from Deloitte at the height of the pandemic:
I noted how many days I had left everyday and tracked accordingly.
I leveraged my network for referrals and intros.
I put time aside for skills development, put in at least 50 hours of work towards recruiting every week like a FT job.
I had some kind of an interview every single day and didn’t say NO to any opportunity until I at least got on a call with them.
I ended up with 2 offers around the 45 day mark
Sure
Sorry to hear it Op. It happened to me last year. Deloitte laid me off. I had 4 offers nearing the 40th day. I sent a lot of requests on LinkedIn to higher management who were hiring to secure interviews. I told my actual situation to everyone always right from the recruiter to the manager and the urgency of getting a job in the next 30 days so that they don’t waste my time if they require more time. I used a lot of referrals and told my friends to check if there was an opening in their team. I also set up calls with lawyers 2-3 times to make sure my understanding of the law is correct and for alternative options.
Additionally I shall mention that please apply to as many places as possible. And send cold emails, cold IMs letting people know of your situation from get go. Don’t shy away and be aggressive for your job search. That should be your only agenda till you secure atleast 2 offers.
Also, go ahead and let atleast 2 firms apply for your H1B so that your probability of an approval increases. When you decide later to join on company the other one can take back their petition.
Good luck and you would get a job before the period!
Yeah what I meant was just to be safe. I accepted over 2 job offers because even if one transfer would have gotten rejected or even would have gotten a RFE, it wouldn’t have been the end of the road.

Be flexible with your salary requirement and location (of course you don’t want to move to a remote place, but don’t limit your search to specific region). Target small/medium companies, they make quick decision on hiring.
Wish you the best luck.
Thank you! I’m not picky at all and would move anywhere / take any salary tbh. This is more about remaining in the country (I can’t go back to my home country) for various reasons (don’t want to disclose the country).
If you don't mind, why did Deloitte fire you at this point, when all OPs are so thin on bench
Can you DM me as well? Out of the loop and just about to join Daddy.
OP: PwC is hiring lot of folks . Look up the role and let me know.I would try to connect you with the right ppl
Thank you, will do!
sorry to hear about that ! I'd say hit up referrals ASAP !
Thank you!
I saw cases that Deloitte hired back people they laid off. Did you try contacting your old group to check?
This is not one of those cases
