Has anyone transitioned to MSFT into non-software engineer roles? Did you feel that a referral was critical in getting noticed or not? Found an interesting role, but haven't had much luck in the past

I've seen people say that if you're underpaid, you can't just outline your contributions because your manager needs a compelling reason for finance to bump your salary and they need to prove you're underpaid. So how do I present my case that I'm being underpaid other than "my friends make this amount in their role" or "Glassdoor says this" when finance can find rebuttals for these arguments?

Alright fish, so I'm from a non-target school for consulting, for reference my school typically sends a couple to the Big 4 federal practices and FDD but definitely no MBB front office. Is there any way in hell I can break into some type of non-strategy role at a Big 4 firm with a B4 audit background and industry experience?

I'm a fresh grad and I thought this would be my dream job... I became the 3rd team member in this location and the regional team leader helped me understand and learned a lot... The non-compete mentions I cannot work for a “direct” or “indirect” competitor during or for 2 years after working with my current company.
