Did anyone get the increment letter yet?
Hi all,
Do firms match offers from other Big 4s for campus hires? I’ve received a campus offer from both KPMG and EY. I’m more interested in the EY offer, but they are paying 3k less than KPMG.
Would it be a bad move to let them know about the other offer and try negotiating? I feel it wont make a difference in the long run, but at the same time I don’t want to leave any money on the table if possible.
Thanks!

Had planned to start school this week but decided to keep our toddler home for now because of it all, will reconsider after the new year
Same as EY1. Our kids are both in daycare where masks are required. The 3 year old is starting pre-school in September and we were ready to leave him in daycare if the school did not require masks. They do, so he is going.
At the end of the day, education and socialization in an environment that has safety precautions in place is a measured risk for us.
Same here. Had planned to send now keeping him home as the school has optional masking policy plus we also have a newborn - not risking now
They are staying home with the new variant scare. I will consider if the cases are down in Georgia or if we get a kid vaccine.
We are planning to send our daughter to pre-school in September. We are in Boston area and most are vaccinated here in my town and follow safety precautions (masking, etc) well. We already deprived our child from social connections for more than a year now and not willing to do that anymore. She has grown quite a bit just in the last 2-3 months interacting with other kids.
My 6yr tested positive for covid. Not sure the strain. She didn't have any symptoms and we wouldn't have known to test her if we weren't traveling internationally. Her 4 yr old brother never got it. Or, he had it a long time ago and we never knew. Dr. said you if you had it, you could test positive for 90 days after. It's weird. I should get them tested to find out the strain but I don't want to put them through that.
Broad spectrum of how it impacts people.
SoCal here: we’re doing in person for my 5 and 3 year old. School requires masks for everyone and they did a good job last year of limiting cases to a mere handful for a school that runs preschool to 8th grade.
Still planning to send my 3 year old to preschool. School is requiring everyone wear masks.
Based in NJ btw
Nope. Keeping kids at home but work is seriously suffering as a result.
I’m in NNJ and sending my 3 kids (2nd grade, K, daycare) to school. Parents and teachers vaccinated. Masks all around.
CNJ here. Sending my kids to school and not worried. They went last year and 3 and 5yo and my schools were great about precautions.
Yes both are going and masks are required. Illinois
The reports I’ve been seeing now say more kids catching it but not significantly more risk of serious illness or death than earlier variants for them. And certainly still better than death rates for kids who get the flu.
Can you share those consultant1?
Yes But only because all the teachers and staff are required to be vaccinated
My family has had multiple confirmed exposures this summer between daycare and summer camp. I have a four year old with asthma but interestingly my older son who does not have any preexisting conditions got a bit more sick from the new virus/variant, but still only had mild symptoms.
I would say if you are high risk and unvaccinated then you may want to exercise caution since the current virus/strain seems to spread more easily. Same with children, if they have health conditions it might make sense to keep them home.
Another proactive measure that we took is to give the kids a children's immune supplement that has vitamin D, Vitamin C, and Zinc. (There are ones that are formulated for toddlers and young children).
Also, I would make sure to have a plan for quarantines since anytime someone tests positive at the daycare your child will be home for two weeks.
Sending my 3 year old. We don’t take many risks but sending him to school is one that is totally worth it for both him and my wife and my mental health.
