Just wanted to shout out you guys and this app for helping to guide people whether that's salaries, tips, referrals, etc. Helped give me direction on my next step. Looking forward to starting in Saas after the new year. You guys rock
Also, if you have any books, podcasts, youtube, etc. I could learn from in the few weeks that would be great.
Tech sales is all about connections and network. It’ll be difficult to pivot from selling stents or pharmaceuticals to tech.
Recommend looking for a healthcare adjacency in tech. For example, if you called on physicians, look at selling clinical applications like Epic or Cerner (or likely something more fringe; those two will be tough to break into). Your healthcare experience will be valued there and you can get your feet wet in more general software like Citrix or VMware VDI that is used to deliver many of these apps.
From there, you can pivot into more general software if you want to. Good luck.
You have to start somewhere and everyone is new at least once. I think that the AM experience can take you a long way. At Microsoft we are industry aligned and Healthcare is one of them. Having experience in the way healthcare operates + sales would be valuable for such a role. Anyone can learn the technology if they want.
My job is currently hiring! Search up Tervene on indeed
Is tervene in the states? I was looking for them.
If you’re coachable any company would be happy to have you
I came from car sales anything is possible
If you’re willing to learn, have accountability and passion then anything can be learned. Soft skill/intangibles are A LOT harder to find in candidates who otherwise may look great on paper
Thank you! I fully agree with you.
I think it depends on company but I would say that your AM experience + demonstrating a growth mindset and excitement to learn technology can take you a long way.
Totes possible mate go for it!
To be honest, one of the main things sales roles whether or not you come from healthcare or tech, is that you you have experience in CRM..
Knowledge in the tech industry is beneficial, for example if it’s a certain vendor, get some basic experience of their portfolio and that should be enough for you not to start from the bottom
