I would give two numbers mixing fixed salary and stock options like for example 180K +5%.
That will communicate flexibility and your preference between two and then they can negotiate two numbers at the same time.that usually makes for better outcomes for both depending on what the value more currently
Just say it and justify by what you are bringing to the table. The important thing is it should make you happy, if not, then it is probably okay to let go.
I agree to some extent. I really like the experience I'll get and the autonomy of the role. I would hate to see them consider another candidate bcuz the salary I suggest is too high
What's a good range for finance manager?
I would just say salary is negotiable

There's no harm in giving out a high number in my mind... They will offer u what they think is reasonable. It's up to u to take it, or negotiate up based what u bring to the table. U can also caveat it by saying u want as much equity as u can get since u believe in the company, blah, blah, blah.
