I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

I worked at an ISV, and now I’m a Bowl Leader 💫

Same!
No, it could actually make you more valuable if it is working in a top niche like CPQ or Financial Force. Typically SE/SA are pre sales roles where TA is more of a post sales role. That is where I would be more concerned. Some pre sales work is great, but too much and it can get harder to break over to the post sales side. So think about what side of the fence you want to be on long term.
In my exp, it is easier to go from post sales to pre sales, but you could have 10 years of pre sales work and might not be ready to jump over to post sales and lead a large implementation from start to finish.

What’s the ISV? It will make a difference. It may give you a chance to network with the right people at SF
What’s the software? I do something similar but I’d think more about the general application of the product...ie if you know salesforce you know CRM and could work for any crm provider like Microsoft dynamics. Same with software like ERP, PSA, etc. how niche is their software? Is it applicable to a wide range of customers within that environment? Are there competitors that you could potentially work for? What the partner network look like?
@sf1 it's a smaller/growing financial product, just listed on the app exam this past year. Seems to be doing well with growth, but certainly not a big name at this point
@M1 that's some real talk about goals right there! Do you get stock options at that level? :D
@ff good points. I plan on staying in Salesforce for quite a while, but still trying to decide if I try and stay general/platform vs specialize in an industry/product. And if I do pick a niche, I don't know that I have enough experience to know which niche interests me yet. I feel like a (40 year old) freshman trying to pick their major right now 😬😬😬

Agreed. And you never know, you might get bought and then be a part of Salesforce, or a larger firm, like I have been multiple times now....
Core Solution Engineer role at Salesforce might be fitting if you don’t want to be silo’d but want to try pre-sales before pivoting to solutions/technical architect.
