Have you ever stretched the truth to get the job you wanted? If so, was it worth it?

As far as I’ll go is claiming I’m a fan of whatever sports team the recruiter is to make a connection lol Don’t lie about experience, education, etc.

likeuplifting

HAHAHHAAH i have totally done this and I think the recruiter knew I didn't know anything about the Patriots. OOOPSY.

Nope. I am afraid it might get discovered in the future. Although, I don't judge those who do.

like

Not too far, honestly. I would advise against it. I would rather be able to back it up when the time comes that I would have to prove my claims. I don't like being caught up in lies.

like

How far did you stretch the truth? I would advise against because if it’s comes back and they ask for confirmation it really makes you look bad.

like

Oh yes, I think everyone has stretched the truth a little to land a job. You what you have to do, especially in such a competitive space.

like

At some point in the past, I have. I think we've all been i this situation once or twice. No regrets but there is a little anxiety that comes with it.

like

Never to the point that I cannot back it up or it's too much for my conscience to bear. It's just normal for people to put their best foot forward during interviews. But it's always better to start clean, right?

like

No way bc it might come back to haunt you. You are everyone on social media, and the internet. Everyone knows someone. I don't want to have to answer someone in the future.

like

I actually haven't so far. I don't think I would be able to sleep peacefully at night knowing I did what I shouldn't have done. As many people say, what goes around, comes around. I will absolutely have to deal with my actions eventually and I don't want that to ruin my future.

like

Nah, I don't think I could keep up with the lies lol - I'm not very good at it. the only lie I told was pretending I like a certain kind of chocolate bc my boss brought me some and I felt bad saying no. Now she thinks I like those chocolates but I actually hate them and don't know how to tell her lol!!

like

Nope. I know what I know and I don’t what I don’t. Just because you don’t meet a certain criteria doesn’t mean that you’re unable to land the job.
