Hey guys! Yesterday the company i worked for laid off the people in our state for economic reasons with no notice. I’m in desperate need of referral in entry level SWE/SD(or similar) positions at the moment. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I’m quitting my job tomorrow morning. I don’t have a new job lined up. I’m scared, but also excited? I’ve felt under utilized for months, and haven’t had a promotion after two years. I never take risks like this, but life is too short. Is this a bad choice?

I’m currently 6m pregnant so looking for a company that isn’t going to have a problem with my giving birth in 3m (looking for a miracle). 13 YOE in Marketing (Brand, Digital, Product, Ops). Hello! Looking for some guidance. I will soon be leaving Verizon after 15 years with them (6 years HR experience, 3 years Operations, 6 years leadership). The last HR position I held will be eliminated and I was offered a severance. I am now in the market for a new place of employment I can call home. I was thinking of trying for a start up. But the likes of Google, Adobe, etc. also seem appealing. Would you recommend a start up as my next endeavor? I enjoy helping build processes and policies.

I heard from my head that there is a lot of slowdown in VW Germany... There is Hiring freeze, level freeze and all ... And soon that will spillover to india. So be prepared for very less hikes in coming cycle :( Also automotive sector in general is struggling with tesla laying off 10% workforce recently. Maybe time to make a move? What do you say fishes?

hey, I joined Deloitte in June 2020 as an GPS SA analyst, I just staffed on internal project only providing me adjusted utilization. Now my standard util is 40 and my adjusted is 105... and this project last in another month... by then my standard util might be 20.. will my promotion be affected by this? My target promotion year on TOD is 2022. My manager said we might sell to client and extend this project in September but nothing guaranteed.

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
