You are probably hearing the loud 5-10% of whiners that haven’t worked a real job in the past. It’s a great place. Highly recommend. Came from Big4 consulting, LEK has way better comp, much more interesting cases, quicker growth, smarter people
That made me more convinced to come. If only I could leave :/. I doubt I would get hired.
TLDR: culture is great and people are great, pay bumps have not been up to standard for junior folks.
LEK has great people and is super collaborative - I’ve experienced only a minor amount of political nonsense and people are chill and genuinely enjoy hanging out after work. The work itself and staffing model is great if you are looking to be a generalist who has exposure to a ton of PE work and a decent amount of strategy.
That said, recent pay bumps to ameliorate inflation hit MBB at about a $10-12K bump, while LEK associates received only $5K. There’s been a lot of understandable anger at this decision.
Post-MBA folks received the same amount of pay bump as MBB peers ($10K) and their comp is still higher than MBB ($270K for first year, including start bonus, vs about $240K for MBB)
Consistent 65-70 hr work weeks here and have had bad experiences with Cs over my 1 year tenure. Accepted an offer and lateraling to another competitor. The fact that LEK fishes are so dismissive of peoples complaints is demonstrative of the firm as a whole.
Have averaged 55 hours when averaging everything out, only 1 week over 70 in over 2 years of work… don’t doubt it happened but wouldn’t say it’s the norm
Mm just talk to us who still work here. Most of us will give u a perspective that it sucks but no more so than any of our competitors :)
But tbh i like it. And i enjoy my firm better than most of my friends enjoy their firms so :/
I am interested in applying US 2023 consultant role. Anyone is willing to connect?

I’d avoid. From my perspective you can find better culture at other T2s unless you are really gung-ho about life sciences.
Came from another firm and enjoy it here. Culture varies a bit by sector but generally strong
