My principal approached me in the car pick up line on Friday to inform me that I’ve taken to many days off & school has just started. I took 1day off when my daughter tested positive for Covid, I had an doctor’s appt that had been scheduled 6 months ago to see the hematologist. Being that I’m anemic, current labs showed I need to have 2 iron infusions. I put in for 2 more days off to have that done. He told me in the future to wait until a work day! We done have any until December!!
Do you resign over email to HR/Coach or is a phone call more preferable in these Covid times?
Moving to NYC next year, and my SO is based in Seattle. He is very keen to spend more time with me in NYC, even suggesting living there while remote working is still a thing. I’m a little hesitant bc we’ve only been dating for 2-3 months and it would feel like moving in tgt. Also not sure if i should be looking for a studio or 1br for more space but at a much higher price tag that i have to pay for. Any thoughts?
Everyone talking about “re focusing on what matters”, or “putting things in perspective “... I’m a skeptical and believe after this COVID madness is gone, we will all go back to our old selfish self... I love the fact our carbon footprint is much lower now, but again, believe this will be short lived. What do you think?
I have 10+ years of experience Agency side, but looking to move Client side with remote work. I've applied for a number of roles either directly on Client sites or via LinkedIn, but haven't even received anything other than a straight rejection at the first stage. Wondering if anyone has experienced similar and overcome it/any tips. My resume has a number of large Agencies and global clients on it, with (IMO at least) some nice success stories, but wondering if I'm missing something obvious.
Curious, are attorneys taking cases to sue hospitals and staff that the family members claim have ‘wrongly’ intubated unvaccinated COVID patients? As in they should not have been intubated? Saw a FB page where a woman is blaming the hospital staff that his husband should not have been intubated and says she has been contacted by many attorneys to sue the hospital.
What are some complexes you would recommend for a spacious 1br 1ba (or 2br 1ba) under $2K near the battery. I’m a young professional thats permanently remote and needs space to set up a nice home office.
Question to fellow M&A fishes. I do FDD at EY and was worried deal flow was going to be slow. Haven’t really been on the bench ever since COVID hit though, which seems surprising. Anyone else there feeling like it business is strong?
Atlantans (or anyone!) - thoughts on visiting and/or living in Serenbe? Considering buying a property there to half live in (with us being WFH, I need a change of scenery), half AirBnB. Trying to gauge if people still like visiting there, or if I’m off base😂 I’m not looking to make a lot of money on it but would simply like 50-75% of expenses covered. I’m not trying to get in on a bad real estate deal though so would love some perspectives!
Not work related but idk where to ask this. We’ve been invited to our first post Covid cookout. It’s at my husband’s former colleagues place so we don’t the hosts too well but we know there are not going to be any kids so mostly a grown up football party. What would bring to it? Because of the current scenario I’m skeptical of bringing my home cooked dip.
Second year lateraling to a new firm and changing practice group - do I have any ground to stand on as far as negotiating bonuses? (Signing, Covid, year end, etc.)
Thank you to Accenture for laying me off during COVID!!! And then trying to get me to come back? I don’t think so. I just almost Tripled my income (TC anyways) in one year. From 85k to 240 TC at a Tier-2. Hahahahahahhahahahhahaha so freaking excited!!!!!! Starting at my new Job in one month!!!!!! Thank you everyone who supported me!
What percentage of your gigs are totally remote these days? Planning to take the leap but there are definitely more opps for better work outside of my local market.
Starting at Accenture next week and wondering if there are any options to expense work from home stuff equipment as monitors? Thanks!
How can I not be awkward at conferences where all my remote coworkers that I've never met will be there? I have an issue with awkward silence and not knowing what to say or how to act.
OSHA Guidance: Employers who require COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of employment must report an employee’s adverse reaction to the COVID-19 vaccine as a recordable workplace injury. I'm a tech consultant with 1 YOE. Im wondering if I should trade my current job: 80k TC, fully remote, ~45 hrs/week, fantastic company and team, and really fun projects, for a new opportunity: 125k TC, 100% in person, ~60 hrs/week, unknown team and company dynamics? Im leaning toward staying, because I really do love where I am, but thats life changing money! Any advice is appreciated!
Which NYC big law firms provide solo offices to at least midlevel associates and above that have actual walls (not all glass)? And are not planning to change the layout any time soon given wfh?
Currently in Accenture with CTC 9.4 LPA (including bonus, fixed pay : 8.4) and 4 years 4 months experience in a .Net Support project having experience in Python, Powershell Scripting as well as in Blue Prism RPA. Want to switch to companies like Deloitte, KPMG, Morgan Stanley , JP Morgan or any such big firms. Can someone tell me if I can get offers in those considering I have worked in a support role for all the years? If yes then also my expected package ?
Pence: why couldn't you lose the election gracefully? You just had to take out LGA to send a message.
Sooo... Living a fine life. Make good salary, have a nice apartment and stuff. Somehow, I mean, being by now a mid thirty female I feel like I have failed (at least regarding this point, don't know how to proceed? (I mean, I am a 34yr old, successful person, but even though I managed having good relationships until I turned 30, by now I just seriously feel old.) Colleagues have either met their match years ago or are incompetent of relationships
Currently working at Accenture as a C (promoted Dec ‘19), but I know I ultimately want to make the jump over to Deloitte. I am on track to be promoted to M in the 2021 promo cycle and I know Deloitte would likely knock me down one level either way. Due to COVID-19, it seems like it doesn’t make sense to jump ship for at least another year while things get back to normal. Any thoughts on if it’s better to wait it out and leave after making M (but how long after?) or try to leave earlier? TIA
Anyone here from the Google office in Detroit? Seeing a job I’m qualified for and I’m wondering what the culture of the office is like. It seems like a small office compared to other Google offices I’ve seen? Does it have a cafeteria with free lunch like the Ann Arbor office? 😉
Private school worth it? I think of it as insurance. Less chance your kid is a screw up, sets the baseline of what school he/she gets into higher. makes sure they don’t get lost in the weeds with low student teacher ratio. Anyone else done extensive research or has practical life experiences with this?
What should I make my freelance rate for a copywriter that has Internship and college writing experience?
I have a chronic illness and WFH has saved my career. There is no way I would have been able to commute to and work in an office consistently. Now, none of my coworkers even know I’m sick.
My first internship was in the US Senate (Democrat senator), and other than that I have an internship and 1 YOE in consulting. Given how politicized things have become do the risks of keeping it on my resume outweigh the benefits of the somewhat unique experience?
Should I take a 15% pay cut and leave Accenture for industry? Or wait it out to find a better paying opportunity? Worried about chargeability and layoffs, hate the process of getting staffed. Wondering if it's worth it though for such a big drop.
MBB have such a quicker path to partner than B4. Is it because the pace is so intense you have to learn quicker?
Anyone know Accenture’s PTO Policy?
REFERRAL INFOSYS Required: Automation Testing, Functional Tetsing 5-8 YOE Dm if interested.
