Hello all. I have a curious question. I will be joining a hybrid position in a company (NPO). I plan to start my work early during the day and get out half an hour early.
Reason: the drive from work takes long (duration) and I have to pick my kids by 6 pm.
How do I approach this situation with my manager? Am I nuts to ask to leave early? Or does everyone face this situation ?

Note: my spouse takes public transportation and there ain’t no direct access to my kiddos’ school. Thank you !

Thoughts on “special” salary grades. I just found out the VP I was offered is not a grade 12 like most comparable roles (verified). Also not an 11, but an 11A. Slightly higher than an 11, a good bit lower than a 12. All due to the fact that it’s a leap from my current position. Why should that matter…..shouldn’t it pay what it should pay if I am selected, rather that curving down towards my current rate?

And the other offer has a good pay and good designation (Associate Consultant) rather than the one I choose. Now i feel very low due to this decision that I took. Negotiation in new offer: I’m moving from fully remote to fully in office (with chance of hybrid later) offer for associate director in quality in pharma for 170k base, 18% bonus and 75k equity. I’ve asked for a sign on bonus as I’m not eligible for annual next year and will be missing my current jobs bonus. I should hear tomorrow (asking for 28k). Thoughts about the offer? Should I ask for more equity or is that standard? They’re public (currently ~$20)should I get the hybrid option in writing?
