I can compromise on CTC over work life balance, job security. I have a child to take care, would like WFH opportunities. Please suggest.

I did it! I got an in-house Paralegal position after years of working and being burned out at different law firms. Need your suggestions. I have a got an offer from XYZ company. Dropped my paper and serving notice period. Now XYZ company is asking me to work on a contract basis until I get relieved from my current company. If I don’t join my offer is null and void. And I don’t hold any other offers as well. How should I handle this. Join XYZ company on contract basis and once after getting a better offer inform XYZ and quit or I shouldn’t join them
