The question is:
1. Do you want a better profile?
If there is no internal opening , then you would have to go out of your current company.
2. Why do you think your WLB will be screwed? Do you have the ideal 9-5 in TCS? If yes, then for sure not a lot of good paying companies would give you this timing because 9-5 is history in most cases
Go for a switch if you want a good salary, WLB is a myth, if it is required by an organization then you will have to work and compromise.
I was also in the same boat, wanted to stay in TCS because I cleared DCA and was getting decent amount for working 2hrs on average each day and getting lot of time for family. Once WFH is over and expenses start shooting up then you'll realise that this amount is not enough, on top of that the negligible hike will make you feel like you are not growing. Now wlb is there but once you become a senior member or lead your work load will increase but the salary will not increase in that proportion. My ex lead in TCS is 10+ yoe, she too stayed in TCS with less salary for wlb but now she is working 10-12 hrs everyday with below market pay because she cannot switch anywhere else.
Make the switch when you still have time and skills, if you get stagnated then you'll work for long hours with less pay
I am continuously learning and doing external certifications...so I am not fully in my comfort zone...so far I have good repo with my managers...but I'm not sure is it right for me or my career in the long run??
