It depends on the organisation. Sometimes the last month salary is also credited and only the leave encashment is pending for full and final.
Rising Star
Usually it depends upon your liability towards the organization. If you are under some agreement, like for example you got some joining bonus and that has to be paid back upon resigning within one year, the equal amount with be held by organization until you pay back joining bonus.
And if you don't have any liability, generally one month salary is held by the organization.
Again this is general rule followed by major companies and can vary from organization to organization. Hope it helps.
