Hello! I have received a job offer and am in the process of onboarding. Working through the tasks on the company Workday. Will be working in California. I am a Canadian so a little confused about state witholdings. I understand that I should put two allowances, one for myself, one for my child (my spouse has his own job and did not claim our child as an allowance).
However, I keep getting an error when I enter "2 allowances" into the Workday questionnaire. Anyone know why this could be?

Everyone has a different perspective on this but would love to hear yours. Someone has debt ranging say 4-5% interest rates. Do you attack debt more then investing to move towards a debt free life or do you go after investments since they return historically above that then paying down closer towards retirement. I know the latter looks better on paper but what about the psychological factors of being debt free and the guaranteed return on interest savings.

Confession: The only in-law that I had a great relationship with passed away unexpectedly. The two remaining in-laws were on thin ice with me prior due to years of drama, nagging, and disgusting display of wealth. I believe their demand of money and general assholish behavior drove in law to his death. I love my S.O. but I can’t deal with the drama anymore.

I am currently 100% remote and went through training and onboarding 100% remote. I am now looking for a new job and I have found remote work is really competitive. Any tips for how/where to apply? I am applying for content and copy writing roles all around the US as long as the are remote.

Truth be told I have never been through onboarding via remote. It’s a bit of a struggle. It’s taking forever to get access to certain resources and my assigned mentor is always underwater. How is everyone dealing with this? My manager seems hard to please in our first couple 1:1s.

Left PA and started industry remotely. Haven’t been in the office. Met my team one time. Tips are to always be on video for even the smallest of calls. Take a ridiculous amount of notes. In downtime, go through your notes and come up with questions by reperforming old work. Set up recurring question sessions with your team so you know what to do next time. Set up performance meetings even monthly because it’s hard to get a gauge on your performance
