I’m currently interning in the Audit practice of Grant Thornton in Houston, TX. I’ve got great reviews from my coach but since I’m not eligible for STEM OPT, I’ve been told no matter my credentials or performance, they cannot hire me full time or even give me a shot at another internship to keep me going since I’m not legally allowed to be unemployed for more than 90 days while using my OPT. I hold a BBA in Accounting and a Master of Science in Accounting. I’ve passed both the CISA and CFE exam and I’m currently working on the CIA certification. It’s been extremely hard to get a job no matter how many interviews I do so I’m open to all opportunities with or without work visa sponsorship so any help will be appreciated.
Thank you!
US companies rarely sponsor. Btw, why aren't you taking the CPA exam

There is no amount of certifications
In accounting that can Outweigh the CPA. Given you have a master in accounting. I would have totally taken the CPA instead of these certifications. I am actually a CFE and don’t believe it even counts at EY as a certification that allows promotions to manager and above

I was an international student as well. Unlike you, I did my bachelor first, I interned at a smaller firm and then when they did not sponsor me, I started studying for my CPA while going for my MBA. Today, it’s different but what hasn’t changed is the CPA
Being valuable. I don’t understand why no one at GT told you that. Even if you were to return to your country, a CPA is still better…. I would suggest getting an MBA while studying for the CPA and figuring out if you haven’t found a solid offer. Please don’t add the CIA to the CISA it is pointless…
