IMO, No. A little background, B4 P, industry transfer, I am doing well so this is not a complaint but some data points for you. When you consider the risk of having to rebuild your network and book of business, it doesn’t make so much sense. There will be sharp elbows when you come in and you have to prove yourself again. Also, WLB and diminishing pension plans are a factor. Unless, you can walk in with a huge pile of business and a comp to match, I say the FAANG life is just as good if not better.

Not a partner (2 YOE) but if I was in your position I would ride my career out there while thinking about retirement. Why would you want to deal with selling?
Because I have been doing P&L management for sometime and even at FAANG I am at sales (70%) + delivery role (30%). Sales doesn’t really bother me...
On first glance, unless you can join as a catalyst Partner hire, don't do it, stay where you are.
The reality is that the firm would offer you to join as a Director, and you would be held to the same yardstick as Directors who have been building string relationships within the firm, and you'll run out of time before turning 50.
Being a Partner at the firm is great if you're on track to make it by 40 or 45 latest. Its a numbers game, and your numbers are better suited for success where you are.
I'll also DM you.
Thank you for the feedback. I will DM you to discuss this further.
This is a really hard one to give a meaningful answer w/out details like your speciality, how hot is the market for your skills, could u come in directly as a partner, which firm and how their vesting/retirement works, etc. I will say that 450k total comp is low for an advisory/consulting type partner in B4.
C1 - again It’s tough to give a general answer to this as firms vary greatly in their comp structures, depends on the group and skill set of the specific partner and is impacted by where they were at in comp when the made partner. But I would expect a high performing principal in a hot advisory type space at a B4 would be 700+ after three yrs if not more.
